This year has been absolutely brutal for technology stocks so far. In particular, the semiconductor industry has witnessed some notable sell-offs. As of market close on March 21, shares of Nvidia were down 12% on the year. Peers such as Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing and Broadcom have declined by 10% and 17%, respectively. But one chip stock that has actually outperformed many of its peers so far in 2025 is Micron Technology (NASDAQ: MU) , with a gain of roughly 12%.
Artificial intelligence (AI) has been a game-changing growth driver for more than two years now. More recently, investors have embraced quantum computing as the Next Big Thing with wealth-building promise. Wouldn't it be nice if you could invest in both of these market-moving tech trends with a single stock ticker? As it turns out, that's not hard at all: Some of the biggest names in AI technology are also firmly established thought leaders in the quantum computing space.
Shares of Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) are sliding on Wednesday. The AI chip leader's stock lost 4.3% as of 11:20 a.m. ET and was down as much as 5.2% earlier in the day. The drop comes as the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite indexes have lost 0.3% and 1.1%, respectively. The AI chip giant is facing fresh challenges in China -- an important market -- as regulatory pressures mount.
The current stock market correction has been difficult not just for equity investors, but also for crypto investors. Across the board, nearly every major cryptocurrency is down for the year. And, right now, the one cryptocurrency on everyone's mind is Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC) , which has historically been the bellwether for the crypto market. So just how much of an impact has the stock market correction had on Bitcoin?

The stock market has been rather turbulent in 2025, and although the S&P 500 is no longer in correction territory, there are still some excellent investment opportunities to be found. In fact, there are some ETFs that look highly attractive for long-term investors right now. Here are three in particular I've bought for my own portfolio recently, and that I plan to continue buying for the foreseeable future.
Shares of payroll and human resources support company Paychex (NASDAQ: PAYX) rose 4.6% through 11:15 a.m. ET despite it turning in only a mixed earnings report this morning. Expected to earn $1.48 per share on sales of $1.51 billion, Paychex reported $1.49 per share (adjusted for one-time items) on sales of $1.5 billion, beating narrowly on earnings, and missing even more narrowly on sales.
Nearly a decade ago, a dark horse space mining operation by the name of Moon Express floated an outrageous idea: Build a spaceship, send it to the moon, collect moon rocks, ship them back to Earth. and sell them. It sounded like a madcap plan, but with moon rocks selling for up to $3.6 million per gram (on the black market), the idea did have a sort of piratical appeal to it.
ExxonMobil (NYSE: XOM) is the 800-pound gorilla in the oil patch. The energy giant currently has a market cap of more than $500 billion. That's over $200 billion more than its next largest rival, Chevron , at $290 billion. It's the most profitable company in the sector by a wide margin. Last year, it generated $34 billion in earnings and $55 billion in operating cash flow, which led all international oil companies (IOCs).
In 1999, a small graphics chipmaker called Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) went public at $12 per share. Today, that same company stands as the world's most valuable semiconductor giant. A modest $500 investment at Nvidia's IPO would have mushroomed into an astounding $1.61 million today -- a 322,600% return that dwarfs the S&P 500 's performance over the same period.

Although growth stocks have a place in many portfolios, even young, risk-tolerant investors should own some long-term value stocks. American Express (NYSE: AXP) has been around since 1850 -- that's quite a track record of success.

When most investors take a glance at British American Tobacco 's (NYSE: BTI) financials, the first thing they probably notice is the stock's huge 7.3% dividend yield. That yield is far higher than the 1.2% being offered by the average S&P 500 stock today, and it's a huge draw if you are trying to live off the income your portfolio generates. However, investors considering this stock need to factor in that this yield might not be sustainable over the long term if British American Tobacco can'

Chevron (NYSE: CVX) stock has gone nowhere over the past three years. It's a real headscratcher, considering the performance of other energy stocks. The average one in the S&P 500 is up more than 20% in the period, while shares of chief rival ExxonMobil (NYSE: XOM) surged almost 40%. I believe Chevron 's days of underperformance are ending. I predict the stock will soar over the next two years.
