Among billionaire money managers on Wall Street, few if any garner as much attention as Berkshire Hathaway 's (NYSE: BRK.A) (NYSE: BRK.B) Warren Buffett -- and it's not hard to understand why. Meta Platforms (NASDAQ: META) is probably one of the most misunderstood companies out there. It is consistently judged by what it does with 5% of its business rather than how the other 95% is performing. This misunderstanding was on full display after Meta reported fantastic Q3 earnings, only for the stock to drop right after the report. Because Meta Platforms is heavily investing in the artificial intelligence (AI) space, some investors are panicking.

This is especially true if you may be looking to generate significant passive capital that you might like to then more actively invest.
It's important to save for retirement during your working years so you're not just reliant on Social Security once your career comes to an end. You could also fund a Roth IRA, which doesn't come with an up-front tax break but offers perks galore.

For instance, the median-monthly payout for New Jersey residents exceeds the median-monthly payout for Mississippi residents by more than $420, and the annual discrepancy tops $5,100. However, the Social Security Administration (SSA) does not consider state of residence when calculating retired-worker benefits, at least not directly.

The bad news, though, is that the cryptocurrency has largely underperformed expectations this year and has struggled to break through the $70,000 mark for several months now.

The IRS just released the 2025 contribution and income limits for retirement accounts, including Roth IRAs. Among the qualities a biotech company needs to be successful, being innovative is one of the most important. It's easy to understand why. Although drugs and vaccines benefit from patent protection for some time, this will eventually run out, at which point the invention enters the public domain, inviting the challenge of cheaper generics and biosimilars.
Millions of seniors today rely on Social Security to make ends meet. For some people, those monthly benefits are their primary source of income. Others have only those benefits to turn to for money in retirement, so it stands to reason that Social Security's annual cost-of-living adjustments, or COLAs, are important to beneficiaries. The purpose of Social Security COLAs is to help ensure that beneficiaries don't lose buying power over time.
In Berkshire Hathaway 's (NYSE: BRK.A) (NYSE: BRK.B) third-quarter earnings report, there weren't any massive surprises about the company's businesses themselves. Investing in growth stocks can lead to huge returns in the long run. The problem is that it can be difficult to predict which ones will become the real deal and which ones will fail miserably. That's why rather than investing a large sum into one stock, you may be better off spreading that amount across multiple investments. Even if you get most of your stock picks wrong, hitting a home run with one growth stock can more than make up for those losses.
Major technology companies have ramped up their capital spending significantly since 2023. According to Bloomberg Intelligence, Amazon , Microsoft , Alphabet , Meta Platforms , Apple , and Oracle spent a total of $110.2 billion in capital expenditures (capex) last year, up from $104.2 billion in 2022.
Are you looking to beef up your portfolio's exposure to dividend-paying holdings? Now's certainly the right time to do so. Not only will the Federal Reserve's expected interest rate cuts over the next couple of years drag dividend yields lower, it will do so by inflating prices of dividend stocks themselves. By stepping in now, you'll lock in above-average yields on any new dividend names before they catch the brewing bullish tailwind.
